The DS-7 is a perfect fit for the active lifestyle of the 21st century: from three-hand models to chronographs, from quartz to automatic movements, the new watch family offers a wide range of dynamic timepieces that lend a youthful face to the Certina sports watch tradition with a clear, modern design.
A new watch family
The DS-7 brings a sporty look to the wrist, and may bring back memories for connoisseurs of historic watches. The design of the new product line is derived from a model from the 1970s, but has taken on a decisively modern appearance – with dynamic lines, fashionable details, and optimal resilience. Two new models premiere at the same time: an automatic three-hander and a quartz chronograph.
Clear and focused: The DS-7 Powermatic 80
With hours, minutes, seconds and a date display, this new mechanical model appears in a 39 mm stainless steel case. Inside is a Powermatic 80 movement with antimagnetic NivachronTM hairspring, easily admired through the sapphire crystal case back. On the front, coloured dials – dark green with sunray finish, for example – add a fresh look. Striking indexes and hands provide clarity, assured even in the dark thanks to comprehensive coating with Super-LumiNova®. An entirely new design for the stainless steel bracelet has it appear to flow directly into the case, highlighting the style and high-end quality of the watch.
Sporting elegance: The DS-7 Chronograph
Just as sporty, if not more so, the new DS-7 Chronograph is fitted with a PrecidriveTM quartz movement in a round, 41 mm stainless steel case. Complementing the hour, minute, small seconds and date displays are a central stop seconds, 1/10th second display and a 30-minute counter. A tachometric scale on the slim bezel offers an easy way to measure speeds. With a metallic shine or totally cool in brushed black – these watches are contemporary classics you’ll want to wear every day.
A pair for all seasons
All watches in the DS-7 collection earn high points for enhanced resilience and amazing robustness – thanks in no small part to the concept of Double Security, whose abbreviation (DS) is a proud part of the name for all watches from Certina. DS plays a role with a number of different features, including a protective crown, that give the DS-7 water resistance up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 metres). In this way the new watches give proof every day that Swiss precision, fashion sense and sporty functionality are perfectly complementary qualities.
