Onze automatische uurwerken

Het automatische uurwerk van een horloge wordt aangedreven door een rotor. Door bewegingen van de arm en pols draait de rotor, die op zijn beurt de hoofdveer opwindt. Er wordt continu energie opgewekt, waardoor er geen batterij nodig is. De mate van nauwkeurigheid is afhankelijk van een nauwgezet productieproces, de oorspronkelijke kalibratie en de levensstijl van de gebruiker.

In addition to being highly accurate, the innovative Powermatic 80 automatic movement has a power reserve of up to 80 hours – almost twice as long as comparable models. This means that a fully wound watch left unworn for three days – for example, over the weekend – will still not need resetting, as the Powermatic 80 mechanism continues to keep time.

This movement, commonly used in Certina watches, is also known as the VALJOUX movement. It has a power reserve of up to 65 hours, and a frequency of 4 Hz.
