Water resistant to a pressure of 30 bar
The water resistance of a watch indicates the maximum depth and pressure at which it continues to function. This Certina model has been tested to an amazing 30 bar (300 m). This is significantly more than in similar watches, many of which are water resistant to less than 10 bar (100 m) - a hurdle that all Certina timepieces easily overcome, thanks to the DS Concept.
ISO 6425 standard
Only watches that meet the exacting requirements of the ISO 6425 standard can officially be called diver's watches. With its numerous functions and safety features, this watch is the ideal companion at all kinds of sports events - and its water resistance has been tested for three hours under water.
Powermatic 80 Movement
Power reserve is the time a fully wound mechanical watch runs until it stops - usually between 38 and 42 hours. The Powermatic 80 calibre makes a power reserve of up to 80 hours possible! So you can leave this watch for up to three days before having to set it anew - if you can do without it for that long...
The beating heart of this model is a Powermatic calibre with an entirely new balance spring made of Nivachron(TM). This innovative material has been developed to increase resistance to magnetic fields. The Swiss-Made balance spring has a titanium base and is therefore exceptionally resistant to temperature variations and incredibly shock-resistant.
Partner of the Sea Turtle Conservancy
In 2017, Certina became a proud partner of the Sea Turtle Conservancy. The Florida-based organisation, whose primary aim is to ensure the survival of the sea turtle and conserve its habitats in the Caribbean, was founded in 1959 - the same year that Certina developed the ultra-resistant DS Concept.
The timepiece comes in a box made of environmentally friendly cardboard which not only offers stylish yet reliable protection for the watch, but can also be easily recycled.
