On the 29th and 30th of September 2018 the masters of motocross lined up at the start for the last time in this year’s World Championship: in the famous Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Racetrack in Imola, Italy, the teams and their drivers battled for their final ranking. Swiss watchmaker Certina was on hand to root for its partners on the race track – and saw a successful outcome: the Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP Team booked an exceptionally positive result for 2018.

In particular, Certina Brand Ambassador Jeremy Seewer, who raced in motocross’s premier class for the first time this year, reached all of his goals. Even before the season began he was hoping “to finish regularly in the top ten.” He’s clearly been achieved that goal, winding up his first MXGP Championship in a fantastic 8th place. His teammate Shaun Simpson also proved his worth with a more than respectable 15th place finish. The passion for sporting challenges runs deep at Certina. That goes for exceptional performance in the art of watchmaking and on the racetrack as well. Since 2018 the brand with a long-established tradition in motorsports is a proud partner of the Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP Team, and its support for the exceptionally talented Jeremy Seewer began already in 2017.
