Certina's long-standing connection with the turtle symbol goes back to the 1960s and the landmark introduction of the brand's famous DS "Double Security" Concept, which brought new levels of reliability, durability and precision to modern watchmaking. In nature, the turtle's shell represents a unique form of protection: exceptionally robust and resistant. It's easy to see why the turtle emblem has been identified with Certina and its DS Concept for over half a century; in fact, it is still featured today on the back of most Certina watches, and remains such a strong link to the brand that in 2014 it was integrated into the Certina logo.
Today the turtle connection goes even deeper, to the recently formed partnership between Certina and the Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC). The new STC special edition features the Sea Turtle Conservancy logo on the case back. The Turtle Connection is here to stay.
