Dragon Dance Brings Shanghai Sunshine

The best possible weather greeted the Certina roadshow crew and BMW Sauber F1 Team star Robert Kubica at a big Shanghai event on April 15, 2009. Joffer 688, one of the city's main shopping centres, was focal point for a press conference with the driver. Government officials were present as were representatives of Certina Agent and Partner Xin Yu, and after an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the new Certina Image store, Robert attended a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance, where he was asked to cover the dragon's eyes with red paint, for good luck, always a good thing for an F1 driver. The event then saw Certina President Adrian Bosshard and Robert Kubica face each other off in a timed challenge, where Adrian tried his hand at a high-tech F1 simulator, and Robert matched his skill against some tough time and date settings to be done on a giant Certina watch. Award handover ceremonies were held as well as exciting autograph, poster-signing and picture sessions, and this colourful and sunny event closed with a question period. A great day for Robert and the full Certina and BMW Sauber F1 Team entourage.
